a train would sure work well in that space - lots of different kinds of cars behind an engine, lots of steam being puffed out, tracks, etc. seems to me you could even freehand that if you can't find a pantograph that would work well.

Tracey - what a wonderful job on that quilt. I love the pebbling under the medallion and the concentric swirls and of course the medallion. It's no wonder it won for excellence in machine quilting. The level of difficulty on this quilt just blows me away. I have to go check out the reason for all the dress up...quilts first, hats after. And of course, I need to find the post with the other photos of this quilt.

Sure did, Tracey!Lots of lovely quilting there, and Helen's work is beautiful too.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all the farmers, the crops up here are looking so lush and thick. But as many of my friends tell me, you can't say it's a good year until the money's in the bank. Hopefully the weather will do just what you want it to do!

The feather design I just made up to tie in the freehand spirals done over the cenre of the quilt but give it some schmancy feel on the borders and setting triangles. I love feathers so it was a natural to do this. Now I doubt this little triangle is totally original & new as I've admired sooo many different versions of feathers over the years that I 'may' have seen it elsewhere and then simply created it to suit this quilt.
